I have a BA in Environmental Studies from Oberlin College. However, while I was there, I took many classes in Sociology, Political Theory, and History, as well. I have a post-baccalaureate certificate in Environmental Policy from the University of Massachusetts, and a MA in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University. I have had essays and papers printed in multiple publications.My approach to tutoring is to first understand how the student learns. Each person has their own way of learning, and once that is identified, we can build on that to achieve your academic goals. We do this by making the process interactive and creative, and developing productive study habits. I believe everyone has the ability to master any subject, once we find the right method and approach that fits with the learner.My favorite subjects to teach involve analytical thought and argumentation - typically anything to do with humanities. Other subjects I can tutor include middle school math, high school math, reading, writing, accuplacer (all components), PSAT (all areas), SAT (all areas), English, psychology, and geography.Outside of academics, I enjoy music and work as a community activist and volunteer organizer.
